Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio from Athens: which tour?

Updated October 11, 2026 · 5 min read

The Bourtzi fortress in the harbour of Nafplio, with palms and boats along the promenade

The answer first. Choose the 11-hour Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio tour if you want the lowest starting price and all three headline stops in one day. It starts at €23.97 and has the most reviews of the three options. Pay €39.10 for the small group only when a smaller vehicle and closer guide contact matter more than price.

Small-group Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio trip€39.103,091 reviews10 hours

This is a survey of the Argolid, not a slow visit to three places. Mycenae supplies the Bronze Age citadel and Lion Gate, Epidaurus the ancient theatre, and Nafplio a contrasting town stop. Transport links them efficiently, but every additional stop reduces free time. If one place is your priority, a focused excursion or an overnight stay will feel less compressed.

The two lower-priced options begin at almost the same amount. Their real differences are guide format, admission inclusions and the time allocated to Nafplio, not one euro. The small-group premium buys scale. It does not create a shorter road or guarantee access beyond what the archaeological sites permit.

Tour or independent drive?

A tour removes navigation, parking and the need to coordinate separate opening hours. Driving gives you control over the order and makes an overnight in Nafplio possible, but the driver carries the workload throughout a long day. If you prefer that flexibility, compare Athens car hire only after checking the operator’s excess, CDW, fuel policy, tolls and deposit.

Check before booking

Confirm which archaeological admissions are included, whether the guide enters the sites, the pickup point and the time in Nafplio. Do not assume lunch is included because the day is long. Wear shoes for uneven stone and judge the trip by its full-day pace, not just the headline price.

Our recommendation

For most travellers, we recommend the 11-hour Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio tour. Choose the small group for the format; choose an independent drive when Nafplio deserves a night rather than a short stop.
